The Community Design Collaborative is pleased to announce the election of Mary Ann Conway and Joe Matje to its board of directors.
Mary Ann is Director of Development for the Office of Institutional Advancement at Drexel University and brings a wealth of knowledge about development, nonprofit management and marketing to the Collaborative. Prior to working at Drexel, she spent six years as the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County and served for nine years as the Vice President of Marketing for the Philadelphia Protestant Home. Mary Ann holds a MS in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph’s University and a BS in Recreation Therapy from Temple University.
Joe, a project engineer at Bruce E. Brooks and Associates, has volunteered on 11 projects with the Collaborative and will bring his expertise and passion for community design to the Collaborative’s board of directors. He is currently volunteering on a project to develop a conceptual design for expanding Libertae Learning Center’s facility and recently worked on a conceptual design for a supermarket on Girard Avenue as part of Infill Philadelphia: Food Access. Joe’s work is dedicated to educating the public about engineering design and increasing environmental stewardship in the built environment. Prior to working at Bruce E. Brooks and Associates he worked for Ai Architecture in Washington, DC. Joe received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.
“The expertise and experience that Joe and Mary Ann lend to the Collaborative Board will help fulfill our mission, shape innovative opportunities and strengthen neighborhoods through design,” says Beth Miller, Executive Director of the Collaborative.
Paul Marcus from Citizens Bank and Cece Denegre of CDA & I Architecture and Interiors, Ltd will serve as Co-Chairs. Darrick Mix, Duane Morris LLP, is the new Treasurer and Laura Raymond, Re:Vision Architecture, will become Secretary.
