The Seed for Something Greater
by Erik Kojola — May 6th, 2010 | Service Grants
A high school student’s vision for a community teen lounge in Camden is beginning to take shape with the help of a team of design professionals volunteering with the Community Design Collaborative.
What began as Angelo Drummond’s senior thesis at MetEast High School has grown into a project in partnership with a local nonprofit, the Cramer Hill Community Development Corporation, to build a community center on a former industrial site. Collaborative volunteers Maarten Pesch, and Marguerite Anglin, both of WRT, and Jim Curry, Owners Rep Inc., are helping develop a conceptual design and recently presented their designs for a final review.
